Community Relations Coordinator / Healthcare Sales (Home Care)
Location:
Burlington, ON (Hybrid/Field-Based)
Job Type:
Full-time
Salary/Compensation:
$45,000 - $55,000
About Us:
Senior Helpers Burlington is a premier provider of in-home senior care. Located in the heart of downtown Burlington at 390 Martha Street, we provide specialized, high-quality care—including our industry-leading Senior Gems® dementia program. We are a boutique, high-touch agency focused on fast response times, highly customizable care plans (including unique 1-hour shifts), and unmatched local care.
We have the caregivers ready to deploy today. Now, we are looking for a high-energy, connected relationship builder to drive our community outreach and turn local medical professionals into consistent referral partners.
The Role:
As our Community Relations Coordinator, your primary mission is simple: Get our phones ringing. You will be the face of Senior Helpers Burlington. You will spend 80% of your time out in the community building strong, trust-based referral relationships with hospital discharge planners, retirement residences, physicians, and local senior networks.
What You Will Do:
- Build the Pipeline: Establish, grow, and maintain referral relationships with social workers and discharge planners at Joseph Brant Hospital and surrounding Halton healthcare networks.
- B2B Outreach: Partner with local retirement communities, independent living residences, and family physicians to position our agency as their preferred private-care partner or bridge care provider.
- Community Engagement: Represent Senior Helpers at Burlington senior expos, local health fairs, and community events to build brand awareness directly with seniors and adult children.
- Market Intelligence: Stay updated on local competitor pricing, community needs, and discharge bottlenecks to pivot our messaging effectively.
- Conduct In-Home Assessments: Respond rapidly to inquiries and conduct comprehensive, professional care assessments directly in the prospective client's home or hospital room to build immediate trust, design their care plan, and successfully close the sale.
What We Are Looking For:
- Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of proven sales or community relations experience in the senior living, home care, medical device, or pharmaceutical industries.
- Local Network: Crucial Asset. Candidates who already hold active relationships with hospital discharge planners or retirement homes in Burlington will be given immediate priority.
- Consultative Sales Approach: You understand that selling senior care is about empathy, speed, and trust—not aggressive pressure tactics.
- Independence: You are a self-starter who thrives on autonomy, loves being on the move, and wants to build a territory from scratch.
- Requirements: A valid Ontario driver’s license and daily access to a reliable vehicle for community travel.
What We Offer:
- Competitive base salary with an aggressive, uncapped commission structure tied directly to client acquisition and hours billed.
- A premium, physical office storefront on Martha Street to host family consultations and build local trust.
- A ready-to-work roster of vetted, specialized caregivers (including dementia specialists).
- Full support from ownership so you can focus entirely on relationship building and sales.
